I just bought a 2010 F-150 XLT 4X4 , listed with 5.4 but has a 4.6L 2V V8.It's at 298.457 miles, what are the first things I should be checking and changing?I just installed new thermostat and Burped coolant system, I noticed the previous owner was using green coolant. Should I drain the system and go oem?Truck is slightly lifted with offset wheels, the wheel has a small deadzone in the center. What could that be?Thank you for any advice

Different brands use different colors and its hard to know what coolant is there. There is a motorcraft flush chemical that cleans the system. Probably not a bad idea. Use Motorcraft Yellow Coolant.
A deadzone could be a worn rack.
Curious what transmission is in there. That is the Crown Vic engine usually paired with 4R75 4 speed.

6 speed is what was originally in it and believe that's what's still installed 6R80 6-speed automatic transmission.
If it were mine i would service transmission first doing a filter & fluid change. Id then drive it for 500ish miles and dump the fluid again. I might get lazy and not change filter at 500. Might? depends on how nasty the fluid was or if i feel transmission has been negletted. Most have negletted.(weld in drain plug best transmission mod ever)
at 5000 id service it again fluid and filter.
While getting up to 5000 miles id work on changing fluid through out rig. Engine , axles, transfer case, coolant( dont care what color it is) all filters.
inspect transmission lines any metal lines that are rubbing together, chaffed, leaking scarey looking replace them, fix the rubbing
I had a expedition with the 4.6 nothing wrong with it. take care if it change oil, plugs, coil packs pretty change all consumables
Have fun with it. I realy like the f150s as tinker toy fun trucks to fix up and make nice again
I just bought a 2010 as well, haven't picked it up yet,, 159,163 reported miles.. so I'm watching this thread I agree with all fluids changed.. Mine was State owned so probably rode hard & put to bed wet. Body & interior pretty good..
