Apple users are probably in better shape that google. Apple is famous for highlighting user privacy and resisting requests from government/law enforcement.... I feel like google will fold like a lawn chair but who knows how this one will go compared to the last time they tried.
I'll further qualify my response that I hope that this does not go down the road of screwing with individual owners who are more than likely to be honest, everyday Americans who are upstanding citizens who live their lives, make their own living by being employed and don't bother anyone or break any laws like protesting and blocking a public roadway, assaulting LEOs and being a public nuisance.
Because like I have stated before, I am not against deleting NOR would I ever rule it out for my truck.
Yeah, when I was researching tuning options the ez lynk model was too much like a subscription aka you'll own nothing and be happy. HP Tuners isn't the greatest, but I own the software and hardware, same for EFI Live. I'm all for convenience, but there's cost and then there's cost. Until my info is safe with 3rd party's I will spend a little more or suffer a learning curve. Hopefully the rest of society will come to their senses and this business model will stop.
I think the platform matters less than the person making the tune, but being in someone else's database that the government can compel to share the data is a hard no for me.
Seems difficult to believe that the same Justice Department that recently made a big splashy announcement that they are no longer prosecuting people for deleting would then turn around and force tech companies to hand over all their client info to facilitate prosecuting people for deleting. I'm wondering if there's something else going on.

I'd have to agree. Plus I like having the factory stock tune downloaded on the flash tuner for safe keeping..
