Hello- 1994 F350 with 5.8 gas. All at once oil started leaking where the oil cooler insert connects to the block. Went to NAPA and the part F4TZ-6L626–A is no longer available from Ford. Didn’t see it on other aftermarket sites either.
I read that some people have removed the cooler, installed a new filter nipple, replaced the bottom radiator hose with one without the connections to the cooler, and installed a different filter. So the question is:
Anybody know exactly what parts are required for this option, or does anybody know of a replacement for the factory cooler. I’m good with either, as I don’t tow or haul much these days. Thanks for your wisdom.

I am a fan of oil coolers and liquid coolers are on the top of my list. I would not remove the cooler unless it was to get me home. I agree with @Wheezingthunder . Take off the cooler and replace the rubber seal. Maybe the fitting is loose causing the seal to leak. It would replace the seal no matter what happened.
While you are there, how is the rubber coolant hose?
Thanks for the info folks. I’ll remove the cooler and check it out and replace the two hoses and o ring if it’s not the cooler itself. Will let you know if I need to find a replacement.

Update- took out the leaky oil cooler, replaced the lower radiator hose with one for a 5.0 without oil cooler routing. Turns out when you remove the piece holding the cooler to the frame the threaded piece still attached to the block will accommodate a Napa 1515 oil filter perfectly. Put everything back together, put in new antifreeze, added oil, and no leaks and good oil pressure.
