Hello, I really need some help. I bought a 2012 Ford F-150 Super Crew Lariat 5.0
4x4 w/Rear Wheel Drv 1FTFW1EF1CFC15285. After the dash harness caught fire, it will be very difficult to repair. The dealer told me that my original part code is CL3Z14401KG, but it’s no longer sold, and I can’t find anywhere to order it... Online, based on the description, I found the CL3Z-14401-KF wiring harness, which is as close as possible to the KG, and when it arrived, I realized it has connectors for a column shifter, but I have a floor shifter, and now I don’t know what to do. Please let me know where I can find the KG wiring harness or one that’s as similar as possible in terms of configuration for a floor shifter and the same climate control unit and radio. Thanks in advance!
Yeah, this is one of those Ford harness situations where the suffix matters a lot. The KG vs KF difference usually comes down to options like column shifter, HVAC, and infotainment, so you can’t really “make it work” without extra repinning or swapping connectors. For your floor shifter setup, you’ll need the exact floor-console variant, otherwise you’ll keep running into mismatched plugs like you saw. At this point I’d check a Ford parts dealer that can search superseded numbers or salvage yards that part out Lariat trims specifically. Sometimes the correct KG harness exists under a later revision number, so a dealer VIN-based lookup is your best shot before committing to more parts.
