I'm trying to find a fan shroud and everything I see is extremely confusing! I see them for 302's, 360, 390, etc but nothing ever mentions the l6 240/300. I've read some say they didn't come with them. Search engine AI says the 360 one fits but... I used to live near a pull a part but it's no longer that so looking at cj's and dennis carpenters and so on. Mine's non-AC.
Anyone have a part number that definitely fits? A kind of local guy has D3Ta-8146-DA that is cracked but looks like you can patch it up and it'd be fine. It's a little too far to just go try or I'd ask about it.
EDIT: Overlook the title, I can't change it. Decided I'm gonna stick with the rad and fan it has, but hoping to find a shroud.

I am walking up to my parts truck (1979 F150 4wd) that had a 6 cly 4 sp. and was also none a/c. The radiator and shroud are still there, I will look for part # and or ck condition of mine for ya.
Well can't get my pic to load, but it is not persay a full square fan shroud. More like a flap across the top. That radiator is very small, I lifted it out the eng compartment with one hand.
Part # D9TA 8147BA, and that might not be the persay "part #" and more of a engineer #.
Thank you both, incredibly helpful info! @77&79F250 That almost looks more like a guard. lol A 'don't stick your hand in there' thing instead of a shroud. I really appreciate you putting in the effort.
@Rubiranch There are quite a few shrouds there, any idea which one might be 'the one'? I definitely need to go measure to be doubly sure.
The temp gauge is running cooler than it did before the radiator flush and refill and new sender which makes sense but I'm wondering if it's running a little too cool. It's over the T at the left slanted line. This pic was taken BEFORE it got fully up to temp but almost. This is at home, idling too.
It's been years but I can't remember what thermostat temp we put in it. Should I pull it and make sure it's at least a 180 in there? I can't say it's that or a 160 but I bought a 195 to have on hand, if it's worth the effort.

You will need to measure your radiator and go from there. That's what I had to do when I ordered mine. My truck didn't have one when I bought it.
I have a 180° thermostat and run it year round and this is pretty much where my temp gauge is all year.
I still haven't come up with anything. I measured and can't find anything that appears to be right. I think the 240 (and 300) didn't come with them but I feel like something, at least a guard, should fit? I let it idle for about 10 minutes yesterday while it was in direct sunlight and it started getting to the right of the temp gauge until I took off driving again. Radiator is small but newly flushed and cleaned with good fluid like I said earlier in the thread. Some bugs in the fins. lol Corner of the fins to corner, 24 wide x 18 tall. Fan measures 18 1/2".
What would you do in this situation? I don't care to just turn it off when I can but if I'm sitting in traffic or a drive-thru, that won't be a great solution. I figure I need to find a shroud and/or maybe get a bigger radiator? Get it with the electric fans or just a 4 core and use the fan that's already on it?
I would find a shroud that fits, or make one from some sheet metal. Or get a already mounted in a bracket elec one and put it in the front pulling air back across the thru the radiator. Have a toggle switch to turn it off and on.
