I need a recommendation for a book that describes the history of all Ford Flathead V-8 engines and significant models, including specs on stroke, horsepower, torque, and other generalized specs. I checked with the usual online sources, but I found some discrepancies among them. TIA
There are Ford Sales, Service and similar that contain engine specifications, but one would need to compile it.

But it doesn't include the 337 that Ford made, nor any industrial Flatheads (Ford, KRW, or otherwise), or the French Flatheads, Canadian Flatheads and so on... It also doesn't get into truck versus passenger variations..So how deep are you trying to go?
Yes, a real go-to site. But they are missing some data regarding the speeds that the HP and torque are specified at. I'm a retired automotive engineer with an interest in all things automotive, especially since I found my '53. As weird as it sounds, searching out automotive data is kind of a hobby. in 27 years online chasing flathead info I have yet to find a single source that is definitive, authoritative or complete. Its out there but in bits and pieces. The other problem I have is many of the best links I saved are now dead and the info deleted and not archived. Also many of the guys I looked to for hands on advice have passed on - a tragic loss for the hobby. I'll look around and pass along anything that might be worth sharing.

Thanks Tim. I certainly do understand the problem with disappearing sources. I like collecting data and understanding what went before, and I would value anything you feel as valuable enough to pass on. Maybe someday you and I will be the sources for others.

Well said! I have several of the common "bibles", including Ron Halloran's, but they are almost all written from a specific perspective (racing, or a defined range of years). Many of those with in-depth knowledge don't put it down on paper or on the 'net, except when a particular issue comes up.
