All right so i like these trucks,14 stx this time.

187 on it when i got it.

Stx 5.0 etc.
When i bought i talked it down from 12.5 to 9.5

4wd actuators at hub, all blend motors in dash, windshield lots misc issues to fight and bring cost down.

All small issues fixed then ford did lead frame recall updated programming. Truck became undriveable. Transmission would go into limp mode.

Was unsure ford techs could acomplish a lead frame replacement so i did it myself. Truck is all good now.

Been running 20% more transmission pressure. Loving the quick crisp shifts. Looking forward to refreshing transmission with steeels seals clutches and badass converter when the time comes.
206k on it now and it looks to have lots of life left in it.

Also been fabbing stuff on it.

Rock solid have seen trail and construction site use. Worth theyre weight for sure.

Only issue that bugs me now is something rattling in rear a bed mount or something. Only hear it at slow speeds. Sounds like a socket rolling in a bowl. Ughhh

Your truck looks real good... makes me miss my silver 2014 F150 STX 5.0, 2" front lift, 295/70-18s. That was an awesome truck and tied for my favorite and best.

Got a sweet deal on some coil overs for a 15-23 but unable to make them work on my 14.

Throwing in the towel.
If anyone in idaho wants them for theyre 15-23 ill let them go for way less than new.

I guess its time to crawl under this thing and get stuff done.

Currently have exhaust crossover out and one cat cut out and gutted. Was pretty easy gutting cat ounce cut off pipe. One to go

Looking for a transmission mount local. Removing exhaust was not a fun job. Explode one shivel with impact nearly killed me. Ive been threatening to buy a 2 post lift. Ughhh.

Also in route are rotors/pads, control arms, front hubs, 6112 shocks, new shock top hats, seals for rear shocks to refresh them along with new front shocks. Ohhh i may put new cv shafts and front driveline to. Getting up there in parts count so i might cool it some.

What kicked this frenzy off was the front pogo sticked bad on a freeeay bump the other day. Not quite death wobble but enough im done with having wore out shocks on front.

ohhh and man mud is the devil

Rasp punched a bunch of holes in cat then chunked it all up with long 2"x1/4 chisel

Assembly will go much smoother

Amazed how rust free that thing is! In NY it would not have lower sheet metal by now. Does it snow in Idaho 😂?

Thanks guys. I jumped all over this truck due to lack of rust and being a 5.0 i spent quite a few months looking at rusted junk. Yes it snows i bought this truck with last years plow money.

Truck sounds sweet the internet had me worried that gutted cats woukd make it loud and raspy that is definitely not the case here. At idle it might have got quiter. Classy mellow mustang sounds, pull her to 4k and she comes alive wich i never do lol.

NO Joke, around here (which isn't that far fron Idaho), they have sand with salt for warm weather, and sand/gravel for cold temps where salt is ineffective. That gravel, well, we buy a lot of windsheilds....

Front is done

Half the brake parts showed up saturday so i had to put it together with old brakes.
Half the brake parts showed up saturday so i had to put it together with old brakes.

Rest of the brake parts showed up today so im current doing rear pads and rotors. Will drop off at shop for alignment tomorrow. It badly needs alignment both tires are camberd way postive.

it does ride very sports car ish i havent havent yet had it on the dirt dropping off curbs like the are ramped smooth.
also put 1/4" spacer in front due to tires rubbing control arm. Gives me an an excuse to get the 18x9 method wheels ive been wanting. They have about 1" less backspacing just enough to clear. 17x8.5x4.75 method would clear even better and probably allow slightly wider 12.5 tires.

Just picked up truck from alignment shop. Substantial width gain from setting camber correctly
[img alt="Look how much lower control arm bolt and steer ends got moved. Blows my wheel plans up. Tires are pushed well past fenders now.
Does ride and steer much much better now.

So ill be looking at stock offset 17 or 18s now . 6"]https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.ford-trucks.com-vbulletin/2000x1124/20250324_180343_20b85c8e31453524d2bfe440cc69232ff3 746294.jpg[/img]

I love doing exhaust work and made the mistake of noticing ford freaks put 4" exhaust on this litts trucks.

So i guessi have to. I also just happen tohave a bunch of 4" on hand

Ill be getting rid of tge stock resonator going to 4" after the crossover pipe.

I did order alittle bigger straigh through diesel muffler. Its a 8"x24" case my currently 3" muffler is 6x14.

Ill also be dumping pipe at the rear axle. I pretty much despise visible tail pipes
