This is a bit easier than my last post about adding IACC.
You might be able to do it all in plain language, but I have a combination of plain language and as built because when I implemented it my ABS module did not have plain language available in Forscan
Plain language:
APIM: Auto hold enable
IPC: Auto hold enable
As built:
ABS 760 03 01: *xxx - xxxx-xx change to 3
To use it -- come to a stop, and slightly press the brake in a bit more. Green light comes on. Release brake, and then hit throttle when you want to go.
@rpaldrich I can confirm that this works on a 24 F250 Plat/Tremor. I just enabled everything and tested. At first, it didn't work, and I couldn't figure out why. After looking through the infotainment screen under "feature" at the top of the screen is the slider for autohold and it is defaulted to off. Once I ticked it, everything functioned as expected. A HUGE thanks and kudos to you sir!
@ZooDad As noted earlier, this is confirmed on a 24 F250 6.7 Plat/Tremor.
Would love to have this feature! Had it in SUV for the last 10 years and sure is handy in rush hour traffic.
Anybody try it on an F450 yet? If not I guess I will give it a go and see on Wednesday.
For those looking to do this on a 22 and prior, I believe the limiting factor is the difference in parking brakes. The 23/24 trucks have an electronic parking brake where the previous years were still manual (pedal). I am not sure on this, but I have not seen any vehicle with a classic parking brake (non-electronic actuated) with auto hold. I had a 21 F250 Tremor and could not find the proper sections to enable to get it to work. ZooDad would be the one to fully answer as I could be wrong.
I hope ya'll can get it working on earlier trucks! You are likely correct about the electronic parking brake and the years of trucks that have it or do not have it. However, I am almost positive that the electronic parking brake is not used in this application. I believe that the enabler for this is an ABS module / brake system that can support Automatic Emergency Braking. If it can do AEB, than it can also leverage that capability to use autohold. I am fairly certain about this because when my electric parking brake actuates, I clearly hear a motor noise for a 1/2 second or so. I do not hear this noise when autohold is enabled (or when ACC stops me).
However, I could be missing the noise perhaps. I just don't think that the e-parking brake is the thing holding me still, but of course it could be. I would guess that if the truck has AEB, than it is physically capable of auto-hold, but maybe there were earlier variants of the ABS module that cannot support. Agree that @ZooDad can probably nail down the answer. I am fairly certain he is seeing if he can track it down.
A little further on the parking brake... I don't think that it directly operates but rather due to the ABS module, it has to have the electronic part for the sensor. Over the years, I've noticed that vehicles that had ABS and conventional parking brake would have issues if a person inadvertently hit the parking brake while the vehicle was moving. Specifically, I had a GMC Sierra that I accidentally hit the parking brake on while the vehicle was still moving and it blew the brake dump valve (their words) and set an illuminated CEL. It was explained that because the computer saw the wheels locking up and couldn't control the calipers it blew the sensor in the module. While I don't think it would be exactly the same scenario, I could see that being why auto hold wouldn't be available on a conventional parking brake equipped vehicle.

I was able to make the changes to the APIM and IPC using plain language, I enabled auto hold in both modules. I got the notice of the Auto Hold under "features" on the info screen, BUT, the slider button is NOT highlighted. Do I need to also make the changes to the "as built" in the ABS module? What value do I change to "3"? .My ABS "as built" values are: 760-03-01 & 760-03-02
Thanks in advance
Sorry to be so dense ... my as built ABS files are: 760-03-01 & 760-03-02. ForScan will let me change the values in the boxes following the values, but not the 7 digit values. I can change 2CE8 to 3CE8.
But I can't change 760-03-01 to 760-03-03. What am I missiong here? thnx in advance

All good -- it took me a bit to figure out what all the numbers meant. Think of it like an apartment building, 760 represents the ABS module, or a street address of an apartment building. The numbers directly after the 760 (in this case 03 03) represent the floor and specific apartment address. You can't change the address. But what you can change are all the numbers after the addres in the boxes. So just change the 2 to a 3 in the box that lets you edit it, and then click "write".
