1995 F=150 5.8 Cranks NO START. Has Fuel pressure AND spark
Hey guys. Found the forum from my week of google searching trying to get my new to me truck running and driving so I can get it smogged and on the road.
1995 F-150 Super Cab 4x4 5.8L 70k mile Truck
Truck was running, on front tank only since the switch to rear tank it pegs the fuel gauge and truck dies. So drove the truck around for 3 tanks of gas and the other day pulling up to my home it started sputtering and the RPM would drop down to 400-500 and want to die unless i kept giving it gas. Turned truck off and went inside. Next day went to start it and it just cranks and doesn't try to start. Got my fuel pressure tester out and it's at 40 psi when i turn the key on and when cranking. Removed the intake tube and a spray of starter fluid and it fired up and died. Got a small bottle of gas and sprayed that in and it started and continued to run as long as I was bottle feeding it fuel. I have disconnected the battery and I don't have any code reader for this truck. Also there was no check engine light on when it was running and died. The previous owner said that it didn't start a few times for her and the mechanic told her it needed new fuel injectors. Truck only has 70K miles and was running and driving good before this. I also ran fuel injector cleaner in the tank on the 2nd tank of fuel and didn't change how it ran before, during or after. Now what should I check to try and get this thing running and driving good again.
Thanks
