Tire choices on 2011 F350 DRW 4x4

I know this will probably open a can of worms... but what is the "best" all-around tire on my truck?

Okay, context can be a good thing. I bought the truck used and it came with Nitto Ridge Grappler tires in 265/70R17. They are more aggressive than I'd like. They drone badly at 65-75mph, and I suspect they are going to wear quickly. I live in Southern LA (not L.A.), so winter tire compounds won't be needed. Very little offroad, but I don't want to spin on wet grass. I drove today in the rain and I was disappointed in moderate acceleration spinning on wet pavement.

I'm really leaning towards the FIRESTONE 265/70R17 DEST A/T2 or the MICH DEFENDER LTX MS2 265/70R17. The Michelin's are quite a bit more expensive, but they also have a longer tread life rating. My truck is primary a farm truck with infrequent use. Maybe 5K a year. A 70K tire doesn't mean much more to me than a 50K tire. I would like a good all-season tire that gives a decent ride and is fairly quiet on the highway.

Thanks for your thoughts.

I have both! A long time Michelin man I have had several sets of the MS2's(Best?), but the A/T2's(Better?) have been great in noise and ride. Neither offer much off pavement traction. A/T2's don't wear as well, but that is reflected in price.

I had the AT2's installed by Costco last week. Quite happy with my Costco tire department experience. The team was quick. Took them an hour and 15 minutes and they were afraid to use the 2 post lift (they claimed the lift had a 10K limit and the truck is just over that), so that time included manual jack and stands. As expected, someone put dirty hands/gloves on my door panel and got black brake/tire dust on the interior.

So far, the tires are great. Much smoother ride, much quieter, and I expect better mileage.

They are more expensive, but, based on my usage, I may never need to buy tires again.

My car has Michelin tires and they seem pretty good.
