I had so much problems getting my rebuilt 1996 EFI 460 to run as perafr specs ,,,,,it tries very hard to run a little rich even when warm
changed O2 sensor twice ,,,,now I have a Bosch 15717 on it runs ok but at about 13,5/1 afr ......
the Bosch site says that either Bosch : 15716, 15717,15719 would do for my application ....no way to reach tech support ...
anyone knows if there is a different reading from one to the other , like would one give leaner mixture ? why 3 different numbers ?
thanks
Dan
Bosch for years was one of the best brands in the business....now for the past few years I avoid like the plague.....QA control is terrible...and I don't care if you are looking at their dishwashers or O2 sensors..... IMHO
Hope your NTK worked out for you. I have a 96 460 EFI with California emissions. looking at RockAuto, I see that the Bosch 15717 fits my trucks upstream B1S1 and B2S1 locations, but not the downstream sensor. for my downstream B1S2 sensor i need the Bosch 15719. I dont know that there is a true difference in the sensing or if it is just wire lead lengths, But there seems to be a difference in federal emissions vs California emissions. There are some sensors that i can use upstream on my CA truck but only downstream on the federal trucks. I dont know why, but that's what i am seeing. My Cat has been stolen multiple times so my lead length needs have changed from OEM due to the hacking thats been done and different size aftermarket cats. im finding out that the last time i had my cat replaced couple years ago, the installer put in a sensor thats not compatible, potentially making the truck run lean.
