1975 F-250 4x4 Brake and Trans Lines Source

Does anyone know the part numbers or a source to get new, pre-bent hard Brake and C-6 Transmission lines for a 1975 F250 4x4(Reg. Cab)? The truck has the stock running gear. Looking at the brake lines, I would think the 2wd would work for the brake hard lines but have issues confirming that. I know I could bend them up myself, and did for the rear axle, but I would like to save some time if possible. The same goes for the C-6 Trans lines to radiator. Truck is finally in the garage and to a point I can work on getting it back on the road!

Searched the forum but no luck really.

The C6 isn't stock in a highboy so that's why you are not finding anything. The next thing is the C6 lines were never sold over the counter. Numberdummy can confirm that I believe.

There aren't any Ford part numbers.

Ford did not supply "service part replacement" brake, fuel or transmission steel lines. They had to be made up using the apropos sizes of bulk tubing, nuts and ferrules.

The repro parts suppliers have some of them made up.

ford390gashog: 1973 was the first year that F100/250 4WD's were available with A/T. 1973/76 F100/250 4WD 360's (only V8 available) came with C6's.

I got the brake lines for my 79 F250 super cab 4x4 from inline. While looking online I wasnt seeing the super cab option. I called & they confirmed they were available. I'm quite happy with the product.

Thanks for the replies. I will try to call inline tube and see what they say. Looks like I may end up bending some lines though. NumberDummy, do you have a source for info on this specific truck for sale or know where to purchase it? I am going to need part#/imfo on a few more items, brakes, steering column, and those diagrams . I know some cd's are out there but it would be nice to have "the book" on my truck.

Few more of these odd and ends and I can get it painted and drop my 445/C6 in! Been on hiatus way to long!

C6 was definitely available stock in a highboy in 1973 as ND commented. I'm just chiming in with my firsthand experience as until recently I owned a 73 highboy that I bought from the original owner that had a Cruise-o-matic 3sp automatic transmission.

Here's the build sheet or whatever its called from that truck:

You can also try classictube.com. In thumbing thru a NPD catalog the only F250 4x4 pre-bent brake line kit I see listed is for a 1971 long bed with manual drum brakes.

FX & MX Cruise-O-Matic introduced in 1958 Ford/Edsel along with FE engines.

Both the C4 (introduced in 1964 cars) & C6 (introduced in 1966 cars) were originally called Cruise-O-Matic.

But FoMoCo later dropped the Cruise-O-Matic name, just called 'em C4 & C6.

See that is what strikes me as odd....you just can't seem to find them for 73-77 High Boys. The only reason I think 4x2 F250 would not work is, memory holding, they had front discs. That build sheet brings up another question that I had from long ago and discussions with owners of these trucks when they were not that far by-gone.
I will see if ND knows.

ND,

I had heard that if in 1973-1976 ish….concerning the old closed knuckle front axle designs....If the truck had an Auto Tranny then the front end would be the Dana 44 HD or Dana 60 HD (both Closed Knuckle Design) and would have the NP203 case. If ordered as a 4sp truck then it got the lighter duty Dana 44 (still a closed knuckle design but with smaller knuckles/axles) but would have an NP 205 case. Is that possible to verify? I know later build dates dropped the closed knuckle all together before introduction of the "low-boy" trucks.

Also, I posted earlier about where to purchase some info on this specific truck.....the info you provide is a service and I do not want to abuse that.

Wink

The 73 F-250 I posted the build sheet for had a Dana 44 HD closed knuckle. low pinion mated to a NP205. Original owner told me he special ordered the HD front axle. Here's the best picture I have as a reference:

I posted a large picture so you can see the passenger balljoint.

I also flipped thru a LMC catalog today and don't see pre-bent brake lines for F-250 4x4 w/all drum brakes or pre-bent transmission lines for F-250 4x4 specified. On my crew cab 4x4 with 4 wheel drum brakes I bought 3/16" brake tubing and fittings from Classic Tube and built, bent & flared everything myself. You mentioned that you already did the rear lines. It looks like you may need to do the front out of necessity as well.

Yeah it is looking that way. See that is what I was curious about on the NP205....Maybe there was no rhyme or reason to it, just ordering from the dealer. I know around here every "stock" Highboy has a NP205 w/ 4sp. Could have just been the norm for ordering.
Mine had a NP203 which I swapped out to NP205. Mine also has the HD CK front axle, which I think gets a bad wrap more so than it should. Anyway, I am just trying to get a parts list going as I am getting the frame ready to paint and move on to the body work/paint. I have had the engine and transmission sitting on a stand and ready to go for over a year now and just now getting back on this project.....aka "money pit"
