73 Restore Project

50’ sprayer with 500gal ball tank

After the sprayer was removed and some love given to the old paint

In for paint!

New wires less headaches

Painted and floor coated

Bed underside coated and ready for body work

Interior done!

Here’s where she sits as of now. Wheels are just simulated images not sure where I’m going with those yet
Hey everybody, just thought I’d share some pictures and info on a truck I’ve been working on for a couple winters. New to this site but been following and getting advice for this old survivor along the way. It’s great to have a resource like FTE! Anyway to the part everyone wants to hear. It’s a 73 F250 with a 390 with a T18. It was converted to a sprayer rig for the farmer at the auction I bought it at. It was in remarkable condition for a 2WD sprayer truck in Indiana weather! I’ve replaced nearly all the interior and done a complete rewire with some modern upgrades. Basically a frame off restore which has turned out to be well worth it! Any questions or thoughts are appreciated! Enjoy the build 👍🏽

Nice truck! It's coming along nicely. Are you keeping it 8 lug?

And welcome to FTE!

My 73 looked pretty clean wet. Then things got ugly and totally carried away. Doing a great job on yours!!!

grinnergetter...was that a contractor special or just homemade boxes? I’ve been following your 73 build for awhile now! That thing looks sharp! I feel your pain finding parts Indiana that don’t look like they’ve been dipped in acid..

Blocking the bed today

Once had the two gas doors but the front was trashed so it got fabbed in and smoothed out

Just the typical salt rot

Primed and ready to block

Today’s tackle
After some serious body work from the sprayer that was once in this thing...it’s time to block! Here’s some before/afters

Pics are right after I kinda finished it and really has not changed since. Has real exhaust now. LOL, has TRX buckets and a SD console. It did leave it's mark though, trucks multiplied around the house like a sonofagun.

Wow that turned out nice! Love that color too something different but doesn’t look like you took a cheap can of rustoleum camo green and shot on it haha. That thing is a beast awesome job 👌🏼

Skip1970 I used Nason Gray 2k Urethane Primer which is basically a cheaper version of DuPont 2K urethane primer. Excellent building for small sanding scratches and blocks easy!

Green Bean Shots

Using the ol 6.4 to take her to get buffed

Took her out for a drive last night to keep things lubed and limbered up! After sitting for years she needs to stretch her legs a bit
