Ok, so I'm doing some work to the truck replacing rockers, cab corner, etc. etc... When I went to put my new cab bushings in, I noticed that my body lines were off by about an inch between the cab and the bed. Are there a bushing of sorts between the bed and the frame or is it just an "insulator" of sorts? I doubt an insulator will make up that much of a difference. I can upload pictures later if need be but its an obvious difference. It's literally an inch or so. Thanks in advance.
I don`t believe there any bushings between box and frame, unless someone put them there, most likely supports on bed or cab are crushed or rotted and sagging
Last time I removed a bed from a 96 there were metal shims (Lobster Claws) on each bolt. These would act as a kind of shim...I don't believe every truck had them, though.
