No lock fuel door? Why not? Aftermarket recommendations?

Ok. Missing another basic function. How to we secure our fuel and DEF from mischief and thievery? Seems like they thought of so many things, but then forget the simple things. Is there a reason why no locking door? Every vehicle I've had for the last 20 years had a locking fuel door.

The Ford design has a metal flap, that closes off the filler tube, and prevent (mostly) the possibility of siphoning with a flexible hose. Beside that with a truck that sets as high as these do, the more common method is not to use a hose at the fill tube, but rather drill the tank bottom, and place a bucked underneath. Thief can leave the bucket out of site under the truck while it fills, while they are also out of site, and come back later to collect the fuel.

I drive a fair amount of rentals for work, I'd say its about 50/50 on those that have a release to open the fuel fill door, and those that don't. But remember, that 'locked' fuel door, takes lass than 30 seconds to open with a pry bar, if you don't care what the paint work looks like afterwards. As for a true locking door, where you have to put a key in the fuel door, and turn a lock, I've not seen one of those in 30 years.

I guess I should have been more clear, I have not seen one on a vehicle from the factory in 30 years. And again, less than 30 seconds with a pry bar and that thing would either fail at the hinge, or the latch.

My Nissan locks and unlocks automatically when the key fob is present or not. I guess they're more fancy, even though they don't carry around hundreds of dollars worth of fuel.
