Fuel pump

Got a 95 f150 5.8l dual tank replaced front pump don't know if it's wired up correctly the connector on the new pump won't fit on the factory harness coming from the engine bay what wires do I splice together from the engine to the new pump the wires on the pump are black grey purple and black/ white if it's wired up right and still don't hear it come on when I turn the key what else do I need to look at

Hopefully this will get you in the right direction. From left pin to right .... Pump ground, Pump positive, Sending unit, Sending unit ground.

If someone butchered your connector, I would grab a meter and verify you have 12V and ground on two of those wires .... you only have about 2 sec during key on to check, and may need to jumper the relay or have a buddy keep turning the key.

I've had to fool with this on both my F150s and reuse the original connector. I can't believe replacement pump assemblies can't come with the correct connector.

This may help some. You should just think of it like rewiring a car stereo. Match up the wires by looking at the locations on the old pump. That's what I did.

Ok does anybody know what color wires from the engine bay are what I understand the pump part now but the other wires from the truck aren't set up like that I have a red,black,orange,and a purple with yellow stripe on it I've also watched the video given before and don't think I have it right

Red= Front Pump Power
Black= Front Fuel Sender Ground
Orange= Front Pump Ground
Dark Blue (purple)/Yellow= Front Fuel Sender Supply
