I have a 56 f100 I知 restoring and I知 just about done with the chassis. It has stock suspension with 3inch lowered springs in the front and reversed eye and 3 leafs removed in the rear. No motor,trans,or bed. So I bought 3 inch lowered shocks from western chassis and they are only 14 1/2 extended for the rear and I have an 18 inch distance. Do you think they sent me the wrong ones? The beds not going to make it go down that much.

When I dropped my truck with Mono single front leaf springs I tried CPP & Western Chassis shocks. Never was pleased and had to change my 56s top shock mounts to accommodate double eye shocks to boot. You would think this would be easy since so many have dropped stock suspensions but Oh No! I didn’t try Mid Fifty they may be the best source.

Keep in mind you’ve really gotta be doing something crazy (Dukes of Hazzard) to reach your unsprung shock length. I’d install them and take it for a ride over some really rough roads.

Thanks Bj, do you think I should get the stock shocks? They are 20” to 12” and I’m at 18” with no bed.

I just open the front shocks and there the right size but there’s is no cover on the top it’s just the shaft it kinda looks stupid. Is that the way they all are?

Yes no boot to cover the shafts on the originals.

Sorry, Had an internet issue and just now catching up. Can you read Power Point? I did some research on shocks and put it all in a power point presentation.
