'06 conv. Front turn signals stopped working..... ideas?
Once again I'm looking for help with my '99 f-350 7.3.
I put on '06 grill, bumper and headlights about a month or two back. It looked pretty good and everything worked fine. I was happy.
Not long after I put the new stuff on, one of the turn signal indicator lights in the dash the went out. I was annoyed at this but kept driving. Then, about a week later, the other indicator went out. More annoyance.
I get out of my truck beside the road with my hazard lights on and I walk to the front of the truck and I see that my front turn signals aren't working, and what's more, neither are my running lights! Double annoyance.
In the back everything is working fine, but I have no running lights, turn signals and no hazards in the front.
Any ideas? I can hear that the "tick tock" is working. Hi and low beams are working.

So I got to work on it a bit today. I found out that I actually didn't have any running lights front or rear.
All fuses tested good (except two that didn't have power on either side.....spares maybe?), and I thought it highly improbable that all four bulbs would go out at once, so I tore into the switch on the dash.
I used a continuity test with a multimeter and found the spades that got continuity when the headlight switch was on the first click. I jumped 12 volts over to one spade and I heard the relay in the dash click and all four running lights came on.
So, I tested down the wire that should have 12 volts and I got nothing. I then ran a continuity test down the same wire to a ground just to make sure it wasn't against some metal somewhere. Then, being the farmer that I am, I simply clipped an "always hot" wire into the wire that should've had voltage. Now my running lights are working! But I am a little concerned because I didn't actually find the cause of the problem.
Maybe tomorrow I can find a way to rig up the turn signals.......

So it has been a while, but I found the problem.
After sending voltage to the front turn signals, I found they came on just fine. I then spent a lot of time tracing wires around.
Eventually I took the plastic off of the steering column and found a connector whose plastic clip was broken. I recognized the wires running into the right side of the thing as the turn signals (green on white and blue on green if I remember correctly). I gave these wires a wiggle in the connector and "Click, click, click" everything started working as it should. Dash indicators, front turns and hazards, all are fine now.
I hope this can perhaps help somebody else.
Thanks to everyone who offers their good advice!
