1967 ford f100 dana 60 5x5.5 rear drum removal
i have a dana 60 rear end under my f100 it has a limited slip axle the axle is hard to beat but id like to change my rear brakes to disc and well for one i can figure for the life of me how to get the damn drums off beat on them with a hammer (sledge) heated it up some even roled the rear end around up in the are with no tires and the ebrake set. i must be doing something wrong here because when i got to the point of prying the drum moved but on closer inspection only the outside moved its like the center of the circle the (axle part is actually a retainer any simple wisdom on this one?
thanks

You must have a dana 60.3 which is a half ton version of a dana 60. Look closely where the lug studs come through the drum. Are there tiny little upset ridges there that are keeping the drum on? It's either hanging up there or on the center hole of the axle. A close up picture would be very helpful.
