made my brake lines

i'm no bending master, but i'm happy how they turned out. i'd rather suffer through the bending than pay what they want for pre made lines. I only took pics of the master to combo valve, these were the most difficult to do ( but I actually bent them both first try ) . I bought a 25ft coil of brake line that included the fittings, and 8 feet of coil spring wrap.

Definitely some good craftsmanship there. You'll be proud every time you open the hood.

This is what I've been trying to tell people who have a fear at the thought of trying to fabricate lines. It's really not as difficult as you might think and the more you do it, the better at it you become.

Good job, emeraldcoupe.

thanks. the biggest challenge was just making sure I was bending the line in the right direction.

As others have said nice job on the bends & flare.
x2 on the street cred the more you do your self. Any one car farm out jobs but not everyone can do the work and you never know till you try.

Got to ask where did you get the spring wrap as I have not seen it for sale before.

I got it off ebay, it's from inline tube.

I do most everything myself, the only things I haven't done ( tried ) yet are painting and rebuilding a transmission. and I don't do windshields

LOL I don't do auto tranys but did rebuild the T5 in my street car project.
I do my own painting and glass if it is rubber seal like on the rear glass or butyl tape like the windshield, not the new glued in ones.
May need to farm out the front glass as it is to heavy for me to install myself and I got no help around here.

Only thing I have had to farm out so far is the pressing out / in and sizing of the king pin bushings to the spindals but did put them together and in the truck.
This is all on my 81 F100 flare side cab off rebuild.

Taken 4/7/2018 little more body work and should be ready for paint. note duel fuel doors on fender yes duel tanks.

Some times all it takes is seeing pictures of someone else project for that little push someone needs to start or re-start their project.
Body work / painting is not hard just takes time to do it right is all.
I got to say I cheated as I have had training doing body work / painting and mechanical work.

BTW thanks for the info on the spring wrap I did not know they had it. Will have to remember for the next time.
Dave ----
sorry for the high jack

Thanks on the truck, it started as a $800 take the trash to the dump truck but when I saw what it needed to be safe and I don't do half azz repairs it turned into a cab off rebuild started Dec 2015 when I bought it.

Thanks for the link it has been saved. I have my sons Jeep that needs all new lines and will be using the spring wrap.
I do like to check in the other areas to see what guys are doing to their trucks.
Some times you get information like this too.

Nice work on the brake lines! And you're right about the pre-bent stuff. I bought a set from inline tube, and wasn't really impressed at all. I'm going to have to redo several pieces of the lines. Need to find me a flare tool for stainless to do it. Preferably one that doesn't cost an arm and a leg, but, we'll see.
