Thumbs up Gear oil...what weight?

NOW, this is not about BRAND.

It seems that Ford specs 75W90 for these 10.25s best I can find...they specified 75W140 for my 10.5 in the dead 6.4. Axles are essentially the same. Should I go with the heavier oil since I am a dually?

Ford back spec'd 75w140 synthetic as the fill for the 10.25 and all 10.5 axles spec 75w140. I would run and I do run 75w140 in the 10.25.

Make sure it has friction modifier if you have an LSD.

Thumbs up

The dually is pegleg. :/ I will never use a clutch type LSD again, it was dead in 14k in the 6.4 Dealer tried to tell me how it worked. I had it pulled and tossed in trash, tossed in Truetrac. Love it. That is what I am going to stick in this ****.

Only reason the F150 has an Eaton w the carbon fiber clutches and forged gears is because that is all that was available for the 8.8" back in the stone age!
