engine swap

Can a v8 be swapped for a 6 easily? I would assume so, but what are the realities of it all? Thanks, Lee

F1swap

I assumed that since I was in the F1 forum, everyone would realize I meant 1948-50 F1's... sorry about that. Can a v8 be put in place of a 6 easily?

It's not a F 1 forum, it is 48-56 Ford trucks forum. And to answer your question , yes. Which engine will determine the work required.

There are aftermarket mounts for about engine/transmission combination. Well maybe not for a Hellcat.

Lee, Welcome to FTE! To answer your question, Yes it is an easy, bolt in swap if you have all the correct parts. If you have the half bell on the V8 it will bolt right in in place of the six. You will need to move the radiator back approximately 2" to the V8 position. Since you need to move the radiator back, you will need the V8 air deflectors in front of the radiator and in the hood. The battery tray is on the drivers side on the six and the passenger side on the V8. The throttle arm on the firewall is different on a V8 than on your six also. The starter solenoid will need to be moved to the passenger side firewall, the holes are already in place. If you have the parts or have a V8 parts truck, F1-F6, it is an easy swap.
