Plugging firewall holes?

Having deleted the factory A/C, I now have several holes in the firewall to plug. There's a large fitting at the top in the center that the refrigerant lines went through. I can make a solid insert to plug that. There are also two 1-1/4" diameter holes down low where the heater hoses went through. Their location is different than the non-A/C holes, which had rubber plugs in them. Too bad they're not big enough to plug the old holes. Any ideas on where to get a rubber plug/grommet to fill those holes? I'd rather not weld then up, at least not now. I'm looking for something more permanent and attractive than duct tape.

Out of curiosity, why did you delete factory air? I wish I had me some air conditioning.

There's very little left of it, other than the huge housing from the cab. No compressor, no lines, no controls, and what's left of the in-cab part doesn't look functional.

FLgargoyle i had the same problem with my 67 Mustang. it was a factory ac car, but i don,t have any ac parts. i went to my local hardware store and i went to the plumbing section. they have solid rubber plugs that have a bolt and nut that goes thru the center of them. find one close to the size of the hole you want to fill and tighten the bolt/nut. some auto parts store might also have the same thing.

I'm assuming you want to plug them without doing any welding??

After carefully measuring the inside diameter of the holes, find yourself a good industrial supply and ask them for Blind Grommets.............

If you have no success finding them locally, you can probably order them online, but may end up with more than you need.

How about two circular discs of plywood, one inside and one out, with a bolt through the center to clamp.
Toothless Jake fix.

Thanks, Mike! I googled it, and only found offshore suppliers that want you to buy a million of them.

How about a rubber plug? Kinda like one of the ones below. Part number 389114-S is still available
from Ford. They don't list the hole size. But at 1 3/4" O.D. I think that might work. I don't have one in stock here to measure.
