Wrecked my truck..

I posted this in the wrong forum group.
https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...l#post18167868

still waiting on a full estimate.. first report says its repairable, but the shop doesn't do chassis or engine work, subs out ..

hit in right front corner, oil filter chopped off.. the shop says the oilpan was hit too... (no picture)..
the engine was not running when I came to rest..
how far down does the crank hang below the block? how far is that below the oil filter mating surface?

thx.. i am trying to get educated on what potential damage may have been done to the lower part of the engine.
know any good sources of measurement info?

not ex.. some other lady..

one of us misread the traffic lights. I saw left arrow, other driver('she') doesn't remember any lights, person behind me reported lights were solid green..
traffic camera will show the facts.. I never saw the other car, until the hood was folding up over the dually hood.

the truck protected me, the air bags protected the other driver. their ford sedan was destroyed.. <3000 lb vs 8500!..

I don't think this is repairable but maybe, frame is bent pretty good.

I have no idea on the crank question.

They will probably put a frame under it if there’s not a lot of cab damage.

The bend in the pic is the right radius arm
I did not get a pic up the chassis from further back.

Found a pic of the oilpan change w filter. Might have cracked the lower block. Crank isn't down this low.

In the prior pic the top of the filter is pulled away from the mounting surface

Cab is superficial. Fender pushed back into door.

Sorry to see the truck damaged Sam, but glad to see you were not. Was the RV on the truck at the time, or still at a park?

Hopefully that didn’t ruin the trip. It looks like pretty scenery.

All of that stinks, but I’m glad it went as well as it did - all things considered.
Are you new truck shopping, or just going to get this one back when it’s fixed and keep driving it?
