Oil pick up tube help please

OK I'm installing the melling hv pump and I've stripped out the holes. Has anyone come across this?
My plan is to drill out the left hole through and through and drop a bolt from the top down, will one bolt be sufficient? The other side I tapped out and I'm still going to try to insert it but if I can't I'm hoping just the one bolt will work if I put two o rings instead of one??

people have broke oil pump body when not seated correctly and tightened .

Haven't had this problem . That o ring seal very important so is cleaning out oil pu screen . A lot of guys don't want to believe how jammed up all those fibers are in screen , can't clean it with out removing it . I would make sure its a very good repair. This engine needs good oil flow and not be sucking air .can it be heli coiled or welded and re tapped.

I might have a solution that helps others I drilled out the left hole through and through and dropped a bolt down I got the other one in thank God, I re tapped it tho. With the oil pick up tube screen I poured kerosene through it the let it sit then with the drain plug off so it kind of back flushed it. Better then nothing .
I know have a problem with the timing, a question of sorts so I'll start a new thread

Believe me it is hard to get those fibers out of there , once the chain and reluctor wheel have ground them up . .The suction of oil pump jams them in tight Dropping oil pan is very necessary . Oh well . Glad you got her tapped out .
