2013 F250 2WD Crew Cab XLT a good buy?
We have found a 2013 Ford F250 2WD Crew Cab XLT with low mileage, in great condition and at a good price. We are wanting to buy a truck that can pull an RV trailer (we haven't bought yet) and wanting the truck to last 10+ years. We have a 1995 Suburban with over 205,000 miles on it and loved it. It is on its last leg and we need a newer truck. I have friends that have F150's and love them and they have lasted a long time. But know I need a truck that can pull more than the F150. I do not know anyone who has had a F250. Do the Ford F250 last a long time? Would this be a good option? I am retiring in 5 years and need the truck I buy to last a long time. We have a fixed budget and cannot by new. So used is our only option. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

<< search is your Friend >>. you do NOT say gas or diesel....... I guess Gas 6.2L..
many 6.2L go well over 300,000 miles...
look up Flatbed Ed,,, his 2011 6.2L had an engine failure at 418,000 miles.. just a few months ago... many photos he provided..
he had Ford put in a New Long Block.. back on the road a week later. transmission and final drive are original
my 2012,,, 6.2L 159,000 miles.. I carry 1,500 pounds in bed of truck AND tow a travel trailer of 9,000 pounds plus .. 2,000 miles at a time. over 4 days each way..

I bought my 2wd 2011 XL crew cab with 112K miles for $11500. I don't think I've ever put more than 30 or 40 thousand miles on a rig before I got rid of it so I may see the odometer reading differently than most. With the 6.2, buying one with 150K miles verses one with 50K miles could save you $10K without sacrificing dependability. Make sure you get the e-locker if you get a 2wd. You'll be getting stuck on wet grass if you dont.
