Lowered '78 SWB F100 with DJM dream Beams. Too much Camber!

I have lowered my 1978 F100 with the DJM Beams and Shackles... Problem now is too much
positive camber.. I have called 4 alignment shops, including local Ford Dealership since 1964, and
no one can bend the beams to fix the positive camber...I think the springs can be cut to improve this
but does anyone know how much? like 1 coil cut equals -3deg camber etc. The toe has not been set either
I believe setting the toe will have a small effect, but maybe not enough...
...

Well, you can,t just cut the springs they are wound to fit the top and bottom. Maybe a slightly shorter spring can be found?

I thought that the whole point of using drop beams is that they maintained the proper suspension geometry? Have you tried contacting DJM to see if this is a manufacturing defect or if they have any suggestions?

I'm not sure exactly how much is ok, but these 2wd dentsides call for a little positive camber. I know mine did once I had the drop beams put on. Did you put the beams on the wrong side? I'm not sure if that would give you that camber issue, but you may as well double check everything.

Well, if you go to a good shop, they should be able to fix this issue with balljoint sleeves. I went to a shop today and talked to them about my camber. Scheduled alignment for Monday.

"I" beam suspensions don't have Ball joints. I don't believe the DJM beams can be bent. You can use an insert in the spring perch to adjust for caster but i don't think it would help camber any.

Sorry.

I did not know that. I drive a 4wd. On the drawing, part #3B178, is there something you can do here to help it out some? Just curious.

Shorter spring.

Personally, I'd chop the spring in a heartbeat and never think about it again.

Yes, but I'd like to know how much drop per coil...Pretty good job, for trial and error..

Have you put it on an alignment rack to see just how much camber you have? I am curious.......

I have not put it on a rack, see original post... No alignment shops near me can bend the beams...I can borrow a magnetic Camber gauge to check..
Not sure how accurate it will be...

Until you put it on a rack & measure it, you are just guessing at what you have. Who knows, it might be within spec now. The shop that puts it on the rack & measures it doesn't have to be able to bend the beams to measure it.

Just for your reference. This is a shot of my alignment after having the DJM 3/4 drop installed on my truck. Please note the acceptable range. I know your truck is a year newer, but it should be pretty much the same if not exactly.

Common problem. I had the same issue along with a lot of others. Dream beams CAN be bent a little just like stock ones, not too much though.

Check with shops that align semi trucks with I-beams, that's who I went to.
