Bed rail toolbox pictures

I need some help, I have looked at a bunch of pictures of bed rail tool boxes, but i can't get a grasp of what they look like on the super duty trucks. I usually would go straight to a full bed width against the cab tool box, but to quite honest, I have gotten older now and realize that ease of use means more to me than looks. If anyone who has a bed rail mounted box could post up some pics, I would be very grateful.

My truck currently has a Retrax roll and lock tonneau cover on it (like 1800 new), and I'm not too sure if I really want to get rid of it at this point. If anyone has any of the flush mount boxes, post pics of them too as my tonneau would still have full functionality if I were to get one of those.

Thanks in advance.

Really, 107 views and no one has a bed rail toolbox on their superduty. There are plenty of stock pictures on the interwebs, but no detailed pics of how they bolt on, install, etc.

I've worked with them on a Dodge before (no pics, this was 2004 time frame). They worked great in the sense that no bed length was lost, it was a fence contractor and needed every inch of that 8 foot bed to get posts in. The ones I used (Weatherguard ~6' long steel models) bolted down through the rail cap, and had a leg on each end that bolted through the bed floor.

I didn't like them. I'm 5'9" and even on a much shorter than today's trucks pre-2000s Dodge had trouble getting down to the bottom of them, I was crawling up on the tire to reach down to the bottom of the toolbox. On my SD I can't get anything out of my in-bed toolbox from the ground, except the little pockets right on the bed rails. The rail boxes themselves weren't the best deminsioned, useful for extension cords, powertool cases, boxes of hardware, but you couldn't fit a normal tool box/bag into them very well and with the weird inverted L-shape of the box it limited the size of items too much for me.

Maybe you'd be better off with something like a rear-door porkchop box:

Thanks, for the information, I've looked at the pork chop boxes, and I do like them. I may end up going that route if I decide to keep my bed cover.

At one time i had all kinds of truck box mount tool boxes..the traditional cross bed, rail/saddle type and top of rail. My problem was it was impossible to carry everything i needed. So about 7 years ago i bought an enclosed cargo trailer..now i have two.
Real truck might have them?
Keep in mind...you will be scratching and dinging the sides of your truck.

Thanks for the pics. I really wish I could find a top rail mount that wasn't 18"+ tall. Maybe one with just a couple of drawers. I really only need it to put straps, jumper cables, and some other odds and ends in. The retrax tonneau cover is growing on me (well growing on the significant other) and may end up being on the truck for the long haul. I just have alway had a toolbox of some sort. The cover is nice, but everytime I open it to load something up, I am constantly moving whatever was in the bed under it. Even stuff that is organized in one bag/container/etc. I want to be able to just grab something up and toss it in the bed

Those pork chop boxes are pretty sweet! Never seen anything like that before. Love the slide-out drawers.

Have you thought about something like this, so you can keep your cover on the truck?

The bed floor drawers have crossed my mind, but I don't need that much space. I would be spending a lot of money for something that I would only be using half of.
