I hate to ask something so simple about dash display

I am seeing this on my dash and it appears to tell me the x2 airbags are not working. I hope not. Is there something wrong or is it correct?
FWIW- I had my seat belt on in the passenger seat and the symbol did not change.

I think if you were to climb into the passenger seat that light would go off.

Here is a link to the page in the manual that explains how it works and when it should be illuminated:

The passenger airbag off is because either you have no passenger in the front passenger seat, or it has detected that there might be a carseat in the front passenger seat.

That "x2" is for a two-stage airbag. There are sensors on the seat that measure how close the seat is to the dash and the weight of the passenger, and if it is close enough, (or if the passenger is light enough) it will only deploy a single stage.
