I'm now looking for a set of 20" rims to install my factory Michelin's Back on after i mounted the KO2's on my factory rims for the winter, I'm kind of leaning toward the factory take off's, I do like the look of some of the newer ones, I guess my question is if i did go aftermarket is there and concern with strength or quality as far as towing a 10,000 LB trailer? i know about the load index, just not sure of the level i must be above... Where do u guys shop for rims and a set of TPMS replacements? Thanks!
Regardless of which wheels you get. All the Ford OEM wheels are rated at 3500 lbs each for load capacity. The bigger variable for towing will be the tires you put on the wheels, Not the wheels themselves
The lowly 17" aren't. Not sure too many trucks come with them though. Maybe fleets would.
I've always enjoyed the irony of that. The OEM steel wheels are my go to, for off road and heavy towing.
I don't trust most any aftermarket wheel. There a few towing oriented wheels that are tough, but their pricing, is usually a clue. I think I'll grab a set of F250 Lariat of Plat wheels when the eventually hit ebay under $1000.
