F150 Heavy Payload Door Sticker Rating

New Member question here. I just ordered an F150 4WD Supercab with a Heavy Payload Package and Off Road Package. I would like to know if anyone has a similar vehicle and could post the Payload and GVW numbers from the door sticker. Thanks!

Do you have doubts about the payload package? A SuperCab with the HDPP will have an 8' bed. You should also have LT rated tires.

On edit. I see you ordered it. They are fairly rare. I believe only one meber here has one. Can't remeber who off the top of my head.

Thanks for the reply JK. I ordered the XL Supercab 8 foot bed with the 5.0L and the Heavy Payload package which automatically comes with the Towing package. I loaded it up pretty well but most of the options are light weight except for the Off Road Package and air conditioning/power equipment package. The listed payload is 2730 Lb for this configuration and I'm wondering how much the payload will be reduced by the 2 options I mentioned. I'm hoping the door sticker is in the 2500 lb range because I'm putting a 1500 Lb slide-in camper on it and I'd like 1000 Lb for food, water and gear and 2 people. I know it's a little tight but I didn't want to go the Super Duty route because it will be a daily driver when the camper isn't on the truck. I wish that the weight of the options was listed somwhere.

I think you can find what you need in these 2 PDFs. I assume what you ordered included the 101a package, since that is the only way you can get the "Power Equipment group".

Thanks Storage man! Lots of good info there but they don't have the weight for the FX4 package which is one of the heavier options I chose. Hopefully, someone can post a door sticker number for a similarly equipped Heavy payload F150. It's surprising how few of these trucks are out there.
Thanks again!

They have the weight for the skid plates, which will be the heaviest part. Minimal, if any, weight would be the hill decent control. The E locker for the rear differential is probably of minmal weight too.

Yes I also looked at that and said "Maybe its a virtual FX4 option" LOL

But any way you look at it, your going to be pushing the limits with the payload that your talking about. I'm looking at the same problem where I am going to have move everything that I used to carry in the bed of my old F250 and move to the trailer, because I know, I was pushing the F250 to very close to its max payload.

JK - Thanks for the heads-up on the skid plates weight
Storage Man - Yea, that decal is prolly pretty light weight.

Thanks for the help and I know that I'll be maxed out. I think the truck will handle it and I'll put my loaded rig on a scale to keep it reasonable. Many people successfully manage driving around significantly overloaded. I don't want to go that route but I'm OK with being at the limit or a few pounds over. I'd really like that door sticker number to be near 2500 lb !

Congrats on the order. I have often considered ordering the HeavyPP, what did your dealer estimate as an ETA?

They estimate 8-12 weeks. I hope the payload is where I want it.

Thanks!

Was it an easy choice for you to go with the new 5.0? I haven't read a lot about how the new one is doing.

Yes, I felt more comfortable with the proven old 5L and they have puffed it up some with new injection technology. It is pretty close to the 3.5 turbo in performance and gas mileage with less things to break so I went with it.

I have a 2016 F150 supercab 8’ bed with HDPP. 5.0 3.73. It’s a XLT 301a, so not many options. My yellow door tag says 2520 lbs. I carry my Polaris RZR 800 in the bed, and tow a 5000 lb travel trailer with a gvwr of 7700lbs. The truck handles it just fine, but I have upgraded to E rated tires.

Thanks so much Fordfan! The door sticker doesn't lie. I have the weight of the skid plates to add in so I should be close to the 2500 that I was hoping for. The tailgate will be removed when the camper is on and I have the aluminum wheels so I am now pretty confident that I'll have around 1000 pounds for people, water, gear, and supplies. My friends non-HDPP 6.5 foot Supercab XLT with the towing package is 2060 lb on the yellow door sticker so the HDPP seems to add about 500 pounds of extra capacity just like the chart says. I test drove a F250 diesel that was only rated at 2424 on the door sticker. Probably would have cost 10 thousand more to get equivalent fuel mileage and payload but that was a steel bodied 2017.

Good thread - I've been scoping out the HDPP instead of an F250 as well. I don't have calculated payload capacities like you do, but I use the truck around my home for projects and such; loading up with gravel, mulch, lumber, etc. I think I'm definitely going with a SC, 8' bed and the 5.0L. The EB is a great motor, I'm sure, but I prefer a V8.

Post up some pics when you get this truck - anxious to see it!

The only thing I'm not sure I'm sold on is the HDPP wheels...the color seems a bit odd. I know, I know...a truck like this is a bit more "function over form."
