OK, that is a two wheel drive box that has been swapped into a four wheel drive application. You will need to make a shaft to work.

Could be, does it say GM on it? Could be a Saginaw box as well from a ford as that style was used on the trucks.

I just googled the number. Looked like a lot of gm options. Where do I go to get a custom steering shaft build for this? Might be in a bit over my head. I have no idea where to go from here. I don't even know what size splines are on each side.

The tag is a Ford tag. But I can't read the last letter. Old eyes. I see SPA-A?. Is it SPA-AC?

The GM shafts had 33 splines if, I remember right. And ford had 36 tooth splines x 3/4" OD.

From googling the code, it seems this box (SPA-AU) is a 76 Ford EB Saginaw box. Go to Borgeson as they have all the parts to connect almost anything. And you can contact them for help.

Smirks90, I am glad you posted this as I am right in the middle of swapping out my old manual gearbox, column and wheel. I would never had guessed there was a difference in the number of splines ! Anxiously waiting to see what column you find.

Hey Smirks, what are you using for a power steering pump? I have priced a Duralast but when I try to find a pulley all I get are GM parts ?
