2005 Eddie Bauer pricing
So my buddy bought a class A and is going to be selling his Excursion. V-10, 3.73, Eddie Bauer, 40k miles. Never seen snow and very minimal rain. Green with 2 tone tan/charcoal leather. He was thinking $20k I said no, he will be very lucky to get $18k and that's if he waited for the right buyer, which he is willing to do. I think he would be able to get $16-17k.
Anyone have any input?

Might be a good candidate for a Cummins swap. Try asking these guys if they want it or know a buyer. https://www.dieselconversion.com/

Last October, we purchased our 2005 Excursion, 4x4, V10, 95k miles. Paid $14k for it and then another $1k to get it delivered.
So a 2005 Edie Bauer, V10, 40k miles (no 4x4) should bring at least the same. The lower miles offsets the lack of 4x4 if you don't need it.
Just my .02
IF you need 4 wheel drive, YOU NEED 4 WHEEL DRIVE and this is not the truck for you. But if you do not? This could be a great buy.
And if he is willing to wait for the right buyer, I suspect he won't be waiting too long. Especially with summer just starting.

Ya I missed that. It's a 4X4. Some of you guys must think people are just giving stuff away or are just stupid and don't know better. An 05 EB with 40k miles is worth way more than $10k! Hell even my 02 is worth $11k. It worth just as much as a 150k mile diesel. Just because there isn't a diesel under the hood doesn't make it worthless!

FWIW last fall I was offered $20k for my 2002 v10 limited ultimate, 4x4 with 50,000 miles and turned it down. I didn't turn it down because of the price he was offering, I turned it down because I didn't know if I would be able to find another one like it if I regretted selling it.
They are are getting harder and harder to find in nice shape and low miles. If others are asking for $36k for a similar year/quality diesel, he should be able to get close to $20k for his v10.
I can ask the guy that offered to buy mine if he has found one yet, if you want me to. He didn't seem too concerned about spending money for a nice one.
