The previous owner cut the dome light bracket out during the chop. I bought a new dome light and trying to figure out how to attach it. Does anyone have a template for the stock 53-56 dome light bracket?
I can't give you a template but here is a photo from a 54. The plate is 4x6 inches, the big opening is 3.75x2.25 inches, and the small opening is 1x1 inch. Hope this helps...
Direct answer...yes, there is a slight bend in the plate, it can be seen in the photo about an inch down from the top edge of the plate. That said, your roof is so heavily modified that having an exact copy of the stock mounting plate may be an exercise in futility. If it were my truck I wouldn't worry about having an exact copy of the OEM plate and would just fabricate a mounting arrangement that suited my application. Good luck.
Yeah, I don't need exact stock. Just trying to figure out what to make it out of, how to cut the rounded middle part out and how to attach it.
I think I may need to cut that horizontal support for clearance on the back of the light.
