Where/how do you guys place the cap while fueling? On my 6.4, the area around the fuel door was all scratched up after some time from just letting it hang while filling.

Shame there is no holder like all every other car.....

 

Hold it, put nozzle in, place on top the nozzle

 

 

On my 6.2l there is a little hook near the hinge to hang the connecting strap on.

 

My diesel has a little hook on the hinge too. So nice to not have it dragging on the paint.

It's black plastic on black plastic so a bit hard to see, just hang the strap on it to the fuel cap, cap hangs down away from the side of the truck nicely.

 

Is this pic missing on this one? I sold my 2015 so I had to look up a pic on line.

Oh, I had to zoom in to see that it is a hook. It looked like it was a hole.

 

Well it is a hole....with a hook....LOL. Thanks for pointing the hook out. Never used it before, but I might now.

 

That pic is of the last SD, the 2017 door is plastic . The inside of the '17 door is black plastic with a similar small hook. I have always hung the cap on it, it does not touch the bed that way.

This is on 2017 Gasser 6.2 may be different on diesel. I use the hook also.
