Thumbs up Fordgo look: Full Size Bench Mount in 54 ...

Fordgo had asked for this, but I post it here just in case that someone else is interested in my mounting bracket which I made myself to get a 1980 F350 bench seat into my 1954 F100.

It is a square tube with a few little brackets welded to it so that I can using the original mounting provisions of both, the F350 bench and the F100 floor.

Sorry, not yet made look nice yet. That'll follow later.

Talking Fordgo look: Full Size Bench Mount in 54 ...

... thanx Daryl. ... and also please no word about the ugly Airforce blue bench (remember, the bench came out of an US Airforce F350 aircraft tow truck) which I tried to cover with this cheapo Walmart one-size-fits-all saddle blanket style seat cover. Burned $30 on this one and it sucks.

@Fordgo, ... I use two holes per side. I am talking about the threaded holes which must be original (at least in my 54). The bolts are close to my square tube. That's why you see that I used Header Bolts which have a smaller head.

I will take more pictures later showing you the clearance between the bench and the doors as well as where the backrest goes. Stay tuned ...

Cool Fordgo look: Full Size Bench Mount in 54 ...

... more pics, Fordgo and those who are interested. As you can see there's about 1 to 1 1/2 inches between the bench an the door. However, the backrest is pretty wide and when you tilt it forward it is touching the door. I will have that modified a bit when I have the bench done (or do myself). The back rest reaches below the window as you can see from the other pic. I feel this close to perfect fit except for the width of the back rest. Judge yourself.

Hope this helps.
