Petition for mandatory recall on leaking Fords
It seems to me that the biggest complaint on this site is the radiator fluid leak on the older F150 models. I'm now beginning to see this problem flowing over into some of the 99 and up models as well.
There is a governing body that forces a manufacturer to initiate a mandatory recall if that body receives enough complaints about a manufacturers product.
I'm not sure who this company is, but I do know that it exists.
We need to research to find out which company this is and compile a complaint petition to have Ford recall these vehicles to have this problem fixed.
I believe we need to begin this project now.
I think what we need to do first is that everyone who has had this problem with their trucks, to post their experience on this thread.
We also need to research to find out who this governing recall body is and post any info we find on this thread as well.
Once we've received enough information, we can compile a petition from this site, as well as all the other v6 F150 sites, and submit an official complaint with this company.
This problem affects all of us. This problem began with the older models first, and is now creaping into the newer models.
Anyone owning a late model 4.2 may very well run into the same problem 1 or 2 years from now.
Lets all work on this together and see if we can force Ford to address this situation.

I'm hoping to be reimbursed for the work done if ever there is a recall!
There are approriate channels for this, such as your attorney, the NHTSA ( www.nhtsa.gov ), etc.
In order to file a complaint with them, I would need to have a list of people who have experienced this problem. What better place to gather a list such as this than the site on which everyone make their complaints regarding this problem. My attorney could not develope such a list. And I'm not looking to sue anyone. I just want the recall committee to be aware that there is an ongoing problem. I don't see why this has to be an FTE issue, when it's not.
Tom
Please do not mention FTE in your compaint but please post here that you did file one so that we all know how many people did.
