Did the STC today, put new IPR, did oil change and new fuel filter and the stupid thing still just crank,crank,crank.... Any suggestions now, cause I am out of things to do?
You are to the point you will have to start verifying what you have and don't have. Verify fuel pressure at the upper filter, low pressure oil pump registering any oil pressure? You may have over looked an item in the high pressure oil system that is still leaking. Start eliminating is the best advice I can give you from a key board.
not to sound mean but really without that all you can do is get really luck or throw bad money after bad money.
however the sct should let you look at a few values.
It should have icp pressure.
it may have ficm voltage.
if you can start there and post up what ya got and ill see what I can do with it.
also if you can let me know exactly what you issue was and what you have done so far.
thanks.
Here we go, EGR went bad, did delete on it, #4 injector was week, had to replace it. After that, developed a starting issue...You run it, runs great, shut it off and it wont start back. Has done this 3 other times usually starting back about the time I go to check the voltage on the FICM. This time No start which leads me to here. Did STC, went ahead and done IPR while I was there. Changed Fuel filters and Oil today before trying to start after the above work. Before doing work today, checked the FICM while cranking 47 to 48 volts while cranking..... So at a loss as to where now... Thanks for your help. Oh yeah, truck has 64,780 miles on it.
Ok, went a read codes, best I could get which is not what you want, sorry upfront, was: Map 95.0, Iat 64.0, and dit 8.0.....also throwing P2614, nothing else I can look at will help you....
About 1130, I got the 1164 psi on the pressure you was wanting to know. My batteries are low due to all the cranking, gonna charge them this AM and check the fuel system out while I am waiting on batteries.
Ok, checked fuel, have plenty of fuel pressure so thats out...Guess it is time to send to dealership, then off to buy a Duramax.....No more Fords, this one has done me in on Ford....
Time to find out what is officially wrong with the truck. After this you will have more knowledge than most new owners about their truck. When you have problems with the Duramax where do you turn to?
