I'm really not stupid...

I've just never worked on this transmission before...

Hell, I have taken apart my 1990 Ford Bronco with a 5.0 V8 engine, all electrical and crap, put new oil gaskets on everything, and put it back together..

But this..

No freaking clue...

But thank you Darrell..

I wish the same thing.

(Oh, and yeah, i've went through the 300 section once or twice..)

Wicked, if it's got a c4,maybe the engine/trans combo came out of a car? I had an '81 F150 that I bought with a bad engine and trans,and I put a '77 351w with a c4 on it ,in it,that came out of my '77 Ford LTD.Made a great go getter,I never put any real hard use to it,but it got me many miles,and it was quick too.The c4 isn't built for truck work,mostly car stuff.

What ratio gears does it have? Thats more important than whether it has a C6 or C4.

No,it should work with what ever you put in.If there is a length difference on the trans you may have to change the drive shaft.

Paul, both C4 and C6 trannys have 1:1 ratio in high gear. Axle ratio can be the same for either trans.
