I know the supense was killing you, well maybe it was killing 924x2150 but......
I took my Class A CDL test on thursday and....
The lovely state of Pennsylvania's tester guy had me to the pretrip inspection and air brake test before we moved the truck. Then I had to pull forward about 200 yds and stop as close to the guard rail as I could without hitting it. Then it was straight backing 100 yds and stop with the front bumper as close to the line without going over it. Finally, to finish the "skills test" I had to blind side parrallel park and stop with the back of the trailer as close to the line without going over the line. Then I got to take the man for a 25 minute ride in a beat truck with no clutch left. All went well. So he told me to make sure I put a valve stem cap on the passenger side wheel and passed me.
That means I get a raise, but most importantly, a truck with a radio and air conditioning!!!!
Glad to hear that you made it.. Yes I always watch out for the big rigs. I hope that you become a real trucker with all of the courtesys that the real trucker have. Just don't become one of the 4 wheel drivers that happens to have a CDL.
Good luck and have fun. thats what its all about anyway.
Thanks fellas. The driver I was driving with on my permit was telling me I was too curtious so I think thats a good thing. As for the jake brakes, the only truck we have with jakes is the rental and I have to fight the other class A driver for it and I usually lose. Maybe I'll just have to go in earlier
