Hello and Merry Christmas to all! Desertrat59 here. Just purchased a 1989 Ford F-150 4x4 . Bought it for a song and got plenty of extras! Like finding out is was a gross poluter (I live in Calif) and the guy I got it from passed away a few weeks later, sheesh what luck! LOL Don't know where to start with this thing. Wishing you all a safe and blessed holiday season! See ya all around!
I am not from Cali, so please explain. Does "gross polluter" mean it doesn't pass inspection thus you can't drive it? Is your goal now to modify the truck enough to drive there? Thanks,
JD

Reason: spelling

I live in central Calif and yes SMOG INSPECTION is a bitch! Ran it through a pre test and the guy said it was reported as a gross poluter but it passed the test. When a car or truck gross polutes you have to go to a refferee station so I did. They use the same equiptment and same test but 2 days later when it tested it, it failed big time, same test but failed miserably, ? I don't get it but now I have to figure out why. Checked the egr, evr, and the air injection tubes they are fine, if the truck didn't run so good I would sale it for scrap!
