Oil pump & Oil Pan?

The first question is, what do you have oil pan wise, so far?

You are going to need a rear sump oil pan and oil pump pickup to match. The car, oil pump pickup should be for a front sump pan.

The oil pump you will need will be for a 460 from a full size van or a 83 - up 460 in a truck, as these will accommodate a rear sump oil pan and the pickup tube, which by the way fastens to the oil pump with two bolts. And yes, I believe the oil pumps mount in the same location on both engines.

crazy4Fords, Glad to see your still out there. I wondered how your project was going. I hear that about the winter. I could only imagine what it must have been like up there. We seldom get over 10" - 12" of snow for the whole winter. Had more than twice that this winter.

So you are lined out on your oil pan, sump and oil pump?

I'm not quite sure about the gasket for the piece you are talking about. I think it is just called an adapter that goes between the transfercase and transmission. I am not sure if it has an actual gasket, big o-ring type seal or silicone. Someone on here will know.

Take care.

I didnt see any mention of the oil pan difference between a car and a truck.
They are not the same,so they will have to be changed.
