This was a 429 CJ out of a 70 torino, It was bored .030 over, forged pistons, balanced. i had it in my 78 f150 4x4. The low end power was not good for pulling boats and our tractor, the cobra jet heads were taken off and sold years ago, I installed a set of police heads "D2OE" which are bigger ports and valves than other 429/460 heads but smaller than the CJ, that made a huge improvement. The engine had roughly 10k miles on it when a cam lobe wiped. I pulled the engine, tore it down and proceeded to go back through it. installed a larger 580 something lift cam, bought new oil pump, main and rod bearings and installed main stud kit (2 bolt mains). its one of those things i do a little bit to it along the way. i still got to install the rod bearings, oil pump and install the oil pan, by the way the oil pan is rear sump for a 4x4. i also bought a weind Stealth intake for it. I had pretty much the same engine in my 69 mach 1, but it did have dome pistons and extensively ported heads and it was putting out roughly 600HP, so i would estimate this engine to be about 500-550 HP I need to get $1500.00 for it. only reason i'm selling is my 94 f350 needs a new engine 460, i found a really low miles 460 i want to get for it. call/ text 404-732-6550 text is best due to work. i don't check messages here very much.
