headlight adjusters - frozen/rust '95 F150
1) Is it necessary/helpful to remove front grill ? Not consistently mentioned in the various threads on this topic.
2) Those little nuts that are a pain ... is the part # N621906-S55M. Not sure why I can't see 2 of these and I can't see the other bolt (or is it a stud) that would go with the other (missing) nut in diagram.
3) When changeing out the adjusters the fact that the plastic adjusting part(looks like a bullet) is frozen what problems does that create ? I have new adjusters/hardware but how do I get the old one off in this case? Will I have to resort to sawzall or rotary tool ? I don't know what condition the other adjusters are in. Maybe they are no problem to work with after assembly is out ??? I don't know what condition the other adjusters are in but I have replacements in hand if necessary.
4) Those 2 bolts going thru corner marker what do they do ? I heard they are discontinued. They have nothing to do with either of those nuts right ?
Thanks for any and all advice
Getting ready to do a core support swap on my 94. I will most likely run into same problems. I see in the online version of National parts depot these listed for our years trucks:
13032/13K040 SCREW & NUT, Headlight Adjusting
F150-350 92-96 Adjustable arm............................................ F-13K040-3 9.43
F150-350 94-96 Long, upper, 1 req’d, screw only................. F-13032-10 1.99
F150-350 94-96 Short, lower, 1 req’d, screw only................. F-13032-11 1.99
There are also some pictures there as well. Have request for print version but have not received it yet. Also LMC truck may have some parts. Both offer completed replacement haedlight assemblies as well. They are also all over e-bay.
Hope this is some help.

The phillips heads of the two top screws strip easy so use the best driver in your box along with a lot of lube on the "rubber" mount that they go into.
The grill can stay in, but I took it out just for the ability to see where the adj screw goes. (All of 2-min)
The Headlight Door (frame around the headlight/turn assy) has to come off. The two nuts attached to the studs of the marker light are tough to get to with a big battery or a fat arm & easy to drop when loose. A magnetic insert in the scocket is helpful.
The lower outside adjuster comes up at a right angle to the rad support & sticks up about a half inch above the HL & rad support. I used a 4mm scocket to back the flat sided adj screw completly out of the lil' right angle do-hickey. Notice that the adj scew has its flat side "up".
Take the headlight assy with the adjusters attached & place it face down on a towel. Take 2 small pocket style flathead screw drivers and carefully place them under the tabs that are just past the "ramps" of the "bullet thingey wings". Twist that counter-clock wise with a pair of needle-nosed pliers. The screw drivers lift the tabs/wings above the ramps allowing the wings to get past the ramps.
Putting them back is much easier. Just make sure you put the right ones back in the top & the flat sided one in the lower corner. Lube the rubber mounts to save your arm & the head of the adj screw.
Hope this helps.
