questions about buying - 2000 F250 PSD Quad Cab 4x4
The Lariat is the top trim level, has leather seats, overhead console, buncha little trim extras. The XLT is the intermediate trim level, has cloth seats and carpeting. XL trim has vinyl seats, rubber flooring, non-aero headlights.
There are lots of these trucks available, especially in Texas, so don't be in a hurry to jump at one in particular unless you have a lot of extra bucks to burn. I waited about four months, comparing them constantly, and got the exact truck I wanted, color, and 350 included! Mine came with cab-top clearance lighting, which I could have done without, but that's the only thing I had to "settle for". It was like ordering one, only for less than half-price. Once you spend the time looking around, you'll get a much better feel for what you want and what they're really worth.
Since this truck is at a dealer, you're not likely to get any records, either. That's the first thing they toss.

I'm not gonna jump anything, just wanted to get a good idea on people thoughts on the truck. I have a 98 EXP EB now but want something a little bigger and I've always like Diesel's, plus the fuel economy and towing capabilities are a plus.I may go and look at the truck, or not, haven't decided yet. There are a lot for sale in the area, I just wanted to have a little knowledge before I go out looking at anything.
I do appreciate all the input though, and the fact that you are ignoring my ignorance with the SD's is definately a plus.
Stick around here and ask away! This is one of the nicest bunch of folks I've encountered on the internet. Better yet, collectively, they really know their stuff! Usually, much more than even the Ford dealer's techs.
Good luck! I'm just thankful I'm not buying right now. I hate the whole process, though I have been pretty fortunate with my last few vehicles. It really helps to know exactly what you want, what you'll pay for it, and be willing to walk away from any deal that isn't good enough for you.
