Lookin at gettin an 01 Ranger.
Well it has the 4.0, 4x4, AT, flareside bed, and 92k miles. The asking price is $8900. How is the price? Is there any specific things that tend to go wrong with Rangers that I should look at? Still deciding between a Ranger and an Explorer Sport. Thanks guys!

thats a good price if the truck is clean and not all beat up and everything works. The only thing i would worry about is if it's an auto and how hard it's been driven. If it's done some 4x ing or towing then the trans is probably on it's way out judging by the miles it has. If it's a stick then theres nothing to worry about as long as theres no leaks and no lights and it passes smog.

Look for rust on the inside bottom door seams, it seems like they forgot to rust-proof mine. Since it is a 4.0, listen for the infamous "timing chain rattle" - you will hear a rattle/clatter between 2500 and 3000 rpm when the motor is cold.
