4" 2wd Lift Complete

I completed my 4" 2WD lift a few days ago, made drop brackets for the front so my tires would sit straight. I posted pictures in the gallery, thought it might help some people out who are thinking about doing it.

I finally figured it out, thanks, now thats what I'm talking about. I want the same height in the front but leave the rear for a pre-runner look and put a skid plate on the front..Do you have a template or would you make a pair and sell them ??? I have been waiting years to get my 2WD lifted..I did not want to bend my I beams so I just have a 2" spacer now, but my camber is at a Positive which you probably know, looks like crap and created bumpsteer..I'm Doing the body and Paint now. Hopefully will be done in a week or so....will post pics when done..

Ethan, Looks good. I am still in the process of "flipping" my I-beams.
I had thought of the road you have taken. Was unsure of the "extension" off the pivot brackets? Have you driven it much since this mod?
I will say it seems much easier than the flip. I may even put her back to original, and try your route.
Where did you get and what # are your springs.

Just a thought..... add a piece tacked to the spacer on top and tacked to the new extension piece. Just to give it some rigidity.

Thanks for the idea and the pics. It's great to see people createing their ideas that are "outside the box".

thanks, no i have not driven it since the lift, im still waiting on some shocks and u-bolts before i can hit the road. I was thinking of doing the flip, but didnt want to take everything apart, and possibly run into problems.

I am convinced the flip will work geometricaly. It is more time consuming, compared to adding a bracket. I like the idea of adding inches just by flipping. Once i get it all together and aligned I might get the taller springs and add the brackets for an 8" lift on a 2wd?

yep I was also thinking of doing that, the brackets, bigger coils, and i-beam flip, but then I would have to lift the rear 8", which would cost some $$ becuase Id have to get a longer drive shaft, and for the front alot of new steering stuff.

Wow nice job. I would be interested in buying a "Kit" from you if you would make some up for me, or at least detailed measurements. Also what size coil springs did you use, Like how much over stock?

good job

Looks good God.boots. My solution was to swap a 4X4 chassis under my 2x4 body. Like what you did though, much cheaper. Always wanted to do this to my original 68 F100 when I was in high school back in 79, but could only afford to dream. So a couple years ago i came across my 68 F250 on e-bay for 127.50. It should not have made it home to michigan from maryland, but it did and the project began. I now have the 2x4 chassis sitting in the garage with out a body, and was thinking the same thing as you have done. The other nice thing about the F-250's is they do not have the different axle widths front to rear.

I ended up makeing a "spacer" of sorts and it lifted my truck 3 inches. I did not need to use drop brackets for the I beams. I just had the truck aligned. The caster/camber of the wheels are correct.

I put 32's under it and it looks great.

I will post pics in my gallery later today.
