Hmmmmmm, that is interesting. I have my new Booster and M/C installed. I had a few mistakes made during the learning curve process. I need to repair one leaky flare and then do another bleed, hopefully this weekend. It is drivable and better but I do feel like they can be better. Right now I come in to a stop and they feel good good. It is that last little bit of travel, like if I need to stop fast/now/oh **** I was not paying attention that I do not like. I have not inspected the pads so they could be an issue as well.
I talked to a few MFRs on sticking with the vac set up, and I was told that I could go with a elect vac pump. Not there yet as I have right at 16" of vacuum at idle and the previous owner added a vac canister.
Yes can use a vac pump, however you already have sufficient vacuum so I doubt it will help.
There are also electric brake boosters.
We scrolled through this build, and it's really cool to see the progression from when you first brought the truck home to where it sits now. Looks like you had a decent foundation to start with and then you've put in a lot of hours and done some extensive work to turn this into how you envisioned it.
Seeing a little go-go juice getting used here gives us a grin Totally unexpected with the clean, classic look of the truck.

Looking forward to seeing where the build goes next.
Thanks it has been a fun journey, and a fun truck to drive. I get a lot of summit racing boxes delivered, wife keeps asking 'if I'm sure it's not a race car'? Summit has always exceeded my expectations for over 30 years.
I'm at the mid point of this build. Some would call it done. I have decided to scale back the scope/time/money of the project. No plan to build full custom frame/engine cage and so on. Instead modify stock frame, brace, 4 link, CV front end. Then paint.

The surface rust on the bed floor was a mess likely from a bed mat. Step one was to just drive it and let the sun and general use beat it down for a year. Then I used a wire wheel on a grinder to remove scale. Hit a few areas with spray paint and put mat over top. Not sure exactly what My plan is for paint. Probably sand prep and paint the bed floor body color.
