New toy.

Is the ATF up to level or is it burnt?
Did you say that was a sleeper type box on the front of the bed or just storage?
Do I see something hanging from under the truck when looking from the right side?
Almost looks like the drive shaft but looks to be too low?

The fluid has been changed along with the filter. It's not burnt but not as smooth and slick as good fluid should be. I think the friction clutches are eating themselves up. On the bed, it's a sleeper box like when I drove a truck in the early 70's but I don't see how anybody could get into it. You can reach through the sliding rear window and the little cover has a sliding rear window on it. I think it's just useful as storage. The pipe hanging down is the exhaust. It has new dual exhaust but one clamp vibrated off coming down on the trailer. That will be one of the first things I fix. There are a lot of little things that were allowed to build up from neglect that I plan to attend to.
A couple of years ago, Bambi did a Bambo on my Mazda. The truck behind me said the Buck came from a field at a run, hit me in the side and flipped over the roof. This is what he did to my rear door.
It was going to be a bit before the parts came in plus waiting for shop time so while I waited, I figured I'd be proactive. If the police were looking for a Red SUV in a hit and run, I'd make sure they noticed it before and knew it wasn't me. I did this to the damaged door.
A neighborhood kid watched me put it on but didn't get the joke.

Was that sticker from Acme

I am guessing the kid was too young to have watched the Road Runner cartoons.

pick up a tractor. I got 1/4 mile from having his truck home, and there was a deer standing in the
road blocking traffic from both ways. I drove past it very slowly, and it headbutted my friend's
truck. I was heartbroken. We got the truck back to him and I told him what happened before
I even checked the damage. He was upset. We went to inspect the truck and all it had on it
was a little deer hair held on by static. lol No dent or scratches, he was still angry. lol
We live in The Deer Country, near Antlers OK, the deer capitol of the world. lol
He was. I think later on he might have looked one up on Youtube. I don't see the neighborhood kids that much. I'm the old guy on the corner down the road with all the old iron. The lady friend and I came out of a restaurant once to find 8 police units parked around my Mazda. I guess one pulled in, saw the decal and told the others.
I got my Coyote decal off Ebay. They have different colors and sizes.
I guess you missed the "Acme" part as I thought that is where Coyote got all his "tools" to catch the Road Runner

Still love it, it just fits so right as something he would do

I got it. I was a bit busy and wanted to let others know about where to get it.
I don't like to let things get me down. The GF was down when it happened as I was taking her somewhere and she really likes the car. She was "So sorry about the car". I told her it was just glass and metal. I was actually more worried about the Deer as I couldn't find it. It left hoof dents in the roof when it went over me.
I'm thinking of bolting an old rusty pipe wrench to the rear bumper of my toy. I figure nobody will tailgate me if it looks like a wrench about to fall off.

For anybody wanting one, here's a link to the site I got it from.

and then asked about the deer too.Sorry to say it most likely run off into the woods to die. Sory to say that is life.
As for tail gaters if I was driving that truck I would not worry too much as it is all steel and what would the bend the bumper?
If it has a frame mounted trailer hitch even better as it hangs down lower so they cant drive under you.
But I do like the wrench on the bumper but todays drivers that dont even look where they are driving I dont think they would even see it

When pulling away from lights they nearly run into me when shifting gears, granny 4sp you cant shift fast and I have to double clutch going into 3rd
The syncro is going bad and think the overdrive keeps the input shaft spinning more than normal.
That brings up a question, insurance.
If you get normal insurance it is only covered to book value and what would that be?
On my classics, pickup and motor cycle, I have Haggerty for an agreed price.
If it is totaled they give me the price agreed and I get to keep the truck so if I want to rebuild it use it for parts to rebuild another or sell parts I can.
They say I can drive it just about any time and where just not as a DD and must be kept in a garage, it is.
Juust something everyone should think about.

Garage storage is a problem. If I cleaned everything out of my garage, the truck might fit. Remember, it has a 4 door cab and an 8 foot bed. A 22 foot truck in the 24 foot deep garage will make just going around it difficult. Allstate has collector car coverage and I may look into that. As it is, it's just an older vehicle to tinker on and drive occasionally.
It does have a frame mounted receiver on the back. The truck has a presence, no doubt about that. Someone in town has a Bentley SUV. They tend to do what they want and you WILL get out of their way. I met them once going down a well marked traffic lane. They were coming the wrong way. We looked at each other. I'm retired and don't get in a hurry. They crept forward several times to get me to move. I was driving this;
They tooted (no other word for it) their wimpy little horn to get me to move. I blew both sets of horns on my truck. The factory and an extra set of horns I added to deal with local drivers. They finally backed up and went the right way. I could easily have driven over them.
As for the Deer, it may have died or it may have learned not to mess with cars. Had I hit it in the side, it probably would have died. Deer are pretty stout. I was worried it might lay there suffering and that is just not right. As it is, the collapsing metal may have absorbed enough impact to just bruise it.
