I kinda chuckled to myself and mean no disrespect, because I know a complete rebuild takes time.
But I’ve actually gone thru this thread beginning to end. Then I realized…..”final assembly “ started over 3-1/2 years ago.
Truck looks great!!!! And I admit, the long down time is what makes me want to drive my truck as is and not rebuild/restore.
Unfortunately the truck was in paint jail for the longest time practically three years. One guy had it for 2 and change. I took it back, gave it to another guy that promised me. I'd have it back in 6 months he got sick and ended up taking him a year to paint it and get everything back. Then I ended up having a full knee replacement and was not able to work on it for the better part of half a year or more. I am now back at it and working on it when I have free time. Hopefully, I should be done by summer.
I know some of these pictures showed up in other threads where I was asking questions about specific topics but I figured I would add them to my main thread too. The steering column is in and set, glove box installation and door is complete. Ashtray is in and complete. Dennis Carpenter wiper assembly is installed and cowl air vent is finished. As soon as some of the snow melts and I get back out to the garage, I will be moving on to my lokar accelerator pedal and linkage, as well as kick down cable for the trans. Once that is complete, I will start wiring the truck.
